About
Purpose and mission
Step into the International Peace Gardens, a peaceful retreat founded by the Salt Lake Council of Women in 1939. Located by the picturesque Jordan River, our gardens represent a lesson in peace and cultural understanding among nations.
With 28 countries uniquely showcased, each area allows visitors to appreciate the richness of global diversity. The gardens are lovingly maintained by the Salt Lake City Parks Department, ensuring that this tranquil space continues to inspire and unite people from all walks of life.
International Peace Gardens serves as a beautiful tapestry of cultures, thanks to our enthusiastic committee of volunteers from each represented country. Together, we try to improve the gardens and craft memorable events like the Folk Festival and the Flower Parade, showcasing the rich traditions and talents of our diverse community.
We invite you to wander through our vibrant gardens and participate in our festivities, where every flower planted and every event held exemplifies our mission of nurturing peace and friendship among all peoples.
